How Swapping This Small, Every Day Item Can Help You & The Environment

How Swapping This Small, Every Day Item Can Help You & The Environment

Plastic wound adhesives – they are just one of those everyday items we take for granted, and most likely, not something we think too much about when trying to be kinder to ourselves and the environment.

Such a small & infrequent problem doesn’t require a complex or out-of-the-box (literally) solution, right?

Wrong…

How many of you have experienced the wrath of a regular plastic adhesive used for wound care? Itchiness, rashes, welts, weeping wounds… A huge number of us react to traditional adhesives, and not because we are all allergic – but because of the chemicals used in the manufacturing process, or the inability for our wounds to breath.

And, where do you think these plastic adhesives go when they fall off? They aren’t recyclable nor biodegradable, so it’s likely once disposed of in the trash or washed down the shower drain pipe they will end up in a landfill for a long time (and NO ONE likes seeing a used band-aid lying around!).

Plastic adhesives are not something that is intended to be included in our regular beauty routine, but a slip of the knife while trying to remove an avocado pip, or a blister on an ankle from wearing a pair of shoes that fit into the ‘look good’ rather than ‘feel good’ category, and all of a sudden we are running to the bathroom cabinet or the closest 7-11 to grab a pack of the most convenient wound adhesives we can find.

What if you could make a very simple swap that meant you were ridding yourself of the skin rashes, removing traditional plastic adhesives from landfill, AND, actually using active ingredients to assist in wound healing?

One that only requires you to replace something that is almost certainly in your bathroom cabinet, with a new, groundbreaking yet super simple product that swiftly rids of these problems?

Well, you can. The above problems are exactly what the team at PATCH Strips sought to fix, and they did so by replacing plastic with bamboo, creating adhesive strips free from parabens, silicon & latex, and adding active ingredients to their strips to proactively assist in wound healing and drawing out impurities including charcoal & aloe vera.

It’s as simple as grabbing one of PATCH’s (very cool) strip tubes, and stashing some strips in your bathroom cupboard or handbag.

Simple, effective, natural & safe. Just how anything that touches our largest organ should be!
